Complementaire zorg (vroeger: alternatieve therapie) betekent letterlijk ‘aanvullende zorg’. Deze zorg komt dus niet in de plaats van de reguliere medische of gangbare zorg maar vormt daarop een aanvulling.
Onder complementaire zorg kan worden verstaan: Acupunctuur, kruidenleer, voetreflexmassage, algemene massage, voedingsadviezen, psychotherapie, coaching, Bachbloesemtherapie, etc.  Acupunctuur, electro-acupuntuur, homeopathie, orthomoleculaire voeding, bioresonantie, levend bloed analyse, kruidenleer, en andere alternatieve therapievormen worden door de reguliere medische wetenschap niet erkend.
Wanneer u medicijnen gebruikt wordt u aangeraden deze te blijven gebruiken. Het is mogelijk dat na verloop van tijd uw toestand vooruitgaat en dat u overweegt uw medicatie te veranderen of af te bouwen. Dat mag u nooit doen zonder uw arts te raadplegen. Vooral als het gaat om anti-depressiva, het gebruik van bloedverdunners of bloeddruk medicijnen kan een negatieve wending nemen als u op eigen initiatief stopt. Uw arts kan u begeleiden in een geleidelijke afbouw van medicatie. Meestal zal eerst een regulier onderzoek daarvoor nodig zijn. Wij staan positief tegenover de reguliere medische zorg. Mocht tijdens een consult blijken, dat uw klacht professionele hulp vereist, dan verwijzen wij u door naar een arts.

If you are taking medication, you are advised to continue taking it. It is possible that over time your condition will improve and you may consider changing or tapering off your medication. You should never do this without consulting your doctor. Especially when it comes to anti-depressants, taking blood thinners or blood pressure medications can take a turn for the worse if you stop on your own initiative. Your doctor can guide you in a gradual reduction of medication. Usually a regular examination will be necessary first. We are positive about regular medical care.
